Kiln formed glass....also known as Warm Glass.
These vases are called Handkerchief vases. They are created with a single sheet of stained glass. The glass is carefully cut to size and the edges are blunted with an abrasive stone. Once all the prep work is completed, the glass is placed in the kiln over a specially prepared stained steel mold and fired.
The joy of the work is revealed only when the kiln is opened after firing for over 8 hours. Each vase is a unique surprise. One never knows how they'll turn out.
The facemask are created in a similar manner but over a ceramic mold.
